How can we help you?

Four Methods Of Bunkering

We understand the importance of maintaining efficiencies within your operations. There’s no room for delays or downtime, and sometimes you might not even want to deviate from your course to get fuel oil. That’s why we offer a range of different bunkering methods to ensure that you get the fuel you need, whenever and wherever you need it and whatever the weather conditions. Whether in port, on the roads or on the high seas, with OW Bunker you choose the time and place and we’ll deliver.

Your Choice of bunkering methods

Harbour bunkering

Harbour bunkering is the most common method of refueling for the global shipping fleet. The receiving vessel will be met by the bunker barge within the harbour to take on bunkers. Smaller river barges can also be used for bunkering. Further efficiencies can be achieved if bunkers are taken on at the same time as a vessel is loading or unloading its cargo.

OW Bunker has an extensive global network of physical supply operations, covering all of the world’s major harbours. We also have a great knowledge of local markets and unrivalled relationships with the best local suppliers.

Bunkering on the roads

At OW Bunker, we understand the importance of keeping costs down and avoiding delay. That is why, as well as high seas and harbour bunkering, we offer bunkering on the roads.

Bunkering on the roads takes place very close to shore, but outside of port. This helps avoid port charges, as well as the congestion and delays that can be encountered in waters where bunkering operations are restricted or in heavy traffic areas, such as Gibraltar, Skagen or the Bosporus. We will meet you at anchorage with the exact specification and quantity of fuel that you need and a guarantee of fast, efficient and safe bunkering service.
