OW Bunker - Global supply for 3.5% sulphur fuel oil assured
Count down to 3.5% starts now…54 days to go!
With the impending IMO regulation that sees the global sulphur limit for fuel oil reduced from 4.5% to 3.5% from 1st January 2012, we wanted to reassure you that, with OW Bunker, compliancy is guaranteed; in fact we already do it right now.
From Europe and the Middle East to Asia and the US, we can already provide fuel oil with sulphur levels lower than 3.5% whenever you need it. Even in Fujairah, traditionally a prevalent region for HFO.
The global sulphur limit applies to all waters other than Emission Control Areas (ECAs), where fuel oil with a sulphur content of 1% must be used. And of course we have plenty of supplies in those key areas too.
Appendix V of MARPOL Annex VI also requires that all bunker delivery receipts (BDR) must specify the density of the bunker fuel and its sulphur content. It is actually a legally binding document and the regulation states that it is the responsibility of the company receiving the fuel oil to provide this. But with OW Bunker you can also rest assured that we’ll take this worry away from you too.
We have rigorous systems and processes as well as a dedicated quality control department that will ensure detailed documentation on delivery and a BDR with clear specifications.
Preparation is key
So while supply is taken care of, we would still recommend that all customers prepare for the transition. With 2012 less than two months away we can work with you to prepare for the change and put in place the most efficient and best priced fuel procurement strategy that meets the exact needs of your operation.
